Hybrid Incubation Program By NIC Begins With 24 Startups

NIC received 1,500 applications for its hybrid incubation programme out of which 52 startups were shortlisted for interviews and 24 were selected to join the cohort.

NIC’s hybrid incubation programme attracted applicants from Canada, Germany, Saudi Arabia, United Kingdom (UK) and Switzerland focusing on areas including healthcare, education, fintech, agriculture, food and e-commerce aimed at responding to changing dynamics of the post Covid-19 world.

The selected startups have undergone a week long virtual orientation after which they are set to formally begin the incubation programme.

As the world is currently transitioning to a new normal, countries like Pakistan have been forced to adopt digital technologies at a faster pace than they would have otherwise.

The shift towards digital technologies has created opportunities for small businesses and young enthusiasts to step up and fill the void in the digital space, across different industries and verticals, said a statement issued by NIC.

The 24 startups that have joined the programme include, Detect Now, LAAF.Inc, Retail Trends, Adify, Umang Pakistan, SLOSH, Bayfikr, Trainers Tribe, Grocerli, Digi Khata, The Gulabi Code, QareebiDukan.com, Apex Logics, Print Asaan, Instawards, Inclusive, Learning Pitch, Tacton Biotic, Last Shot, IKS Guide, Store in Home, Kiraye Per, Smart Farm, CropDrop.

The National Incubation Center is a technology incubation center brought about by a public-private partnership between the Ministry of Information Technology & Telecommunication, Ignite, Jazz and Teamup.
