The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board (KPITB), with financial and technical support from the Multi-Donor Trust Fund (MDTF) and the World Bank, has launched ‘Women Empowerment through Digital Skills’ programme.

“The digital skills programme is part of the government’s plan to create more digital jobs in the province,” said Rukhsana Nader, President of KP Women’s Chamber of Commerce, while talking to Profit.
“The programme will facilitate 3,000 women in the province in the field of information technology and will also provide them with employment opportunities.”
According to Science and IT Adviser Ziaullah Bangash, the KP government has empowered women across the province by providing them with proper training in modern technology. “There are many opportunities for women in the IT sector in KP, as the international organizations have made huge investments in this sector,” he said.
Bangash said that KP has taken the initiative to fulfil PM Imran Khan’s vision of a Digital Pakistan and Women Empowerment. KP has once again surpassed other provinces by training and outsourcing women in the field, he maintained.
Talking to this scribe, KPITB Managing Director Dr Shahbaz said that the first phase of the programme would provide online training to 500 women. Keeping in view the outbreak of coronavirus, this training programme would be conducted online, with the candidates participating from home, he added.
Shahbaz said that women from all districts of the province who are aged between 18 and 30 could apply for the programme by registering at the official website of KPITB.
