Pokemon Sword and Shield, How to Get Gigantamax Squirtle or Bulbasaur

One of the coolest new things with the Isle of Armor expansion for Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield is that many new Pokemon get Gigantamax forms. Two of these that brought a lot of hype was Bulbasaur and Squirtle. But how do you catch one that can do it?

Turns out, it’s pretty dang easy.

When you get to the Isle of Armor, you’ll be tasked to chase down three bizarrely fast Galarian Slowpokes for very silly reasons, and in doing so you please the Dojo Master Mustard. As a reward, he presents you with two Pokemon of which you get to pick one: Bulbasaur and Squirtle.

Venusaur’s Gigantmax form makes his flower bigger, draping over his body and give him the G-Max ability “Vine Lash” where it hits hard with massive vines. In addition to just doing a ton of damage it also CONTINUES to do damage to all non-grass-types for four additional turns.

Likewise, the Gigantamax Blastoise gets the G-Max move Cannonade (when Gigantamaxing gives you cannons, you make Cannonade). Much like Venusaur’s G-Max move in addition to massive damage, it will do damage to all non-water-types for four additional turns.
