A-Huge-Leak-Confirms-Apples-iPhone-8-Design-Features

The next iPhone will feature facial-recognition to unlock your phone and a screen that will cover its entire front, according to reports and a new solid leak from a device within the Apple ecosystem.

A firmware pre-release for the HomePod smart speaker revealed hidden details about several features the smartphone will have come release. The code within sent to the developers last week contained references to other products, including one codenamed D22; developers claim that D22 is the next iPhone, which is expected to be announced in September of this year. According to what was found in the firmware, facial recognition will use infrared technology in place of fingerprint scans. The developer also states the codenamed ’Pearl’ ID — referencing the new tech — is referred to throughout the HomePod firmware.

There is also an icon for D22 that appears to be a smartphone with a screen that covers the entire front with a small portion reserved for a camera, speaker and sensor. This coincides with the rumors about the display as reported in April.
