Pakistani designers hold first-ever virtual fashion show during the lockdown due to the pandemic. Keeping in mind social distancing, as Pakistan continues to grapple with COVID-19. The three-night affair is being released on Catwalk’s digital platforms as well as their partner Geo Entertainment’s YouTube channel and played on the TV channel in the evening.

 Top models of the fashion industry walked in designer wear from the safety of their homes. The fashion show was actually postponed earlier in respect for the victims in the PIA PK-8303 crash, which also including the Pakistani model Zara Abid.

In the online fashion show, the day one’s line-up included lavishing designs from eminent designers of Khaadi, Maheen Kareem, Amir Adnan, Huma Adnan, Nida Azwer and Shamaeel Ansari.

 Collections from Sania Maskatiya, Generation, Nomi Ansari, Hussain Rehar and last but not the least Elan, are also expected to be featured on the second and third day.

The designers and models, participating  appreciated the efforts of healthcare workers, police and others working on the front line of the fight against the orona virus. The show Director Frieha Altaf thanked all the designers, models and front line fighters.

Khaadi took the lead on the first day, its collection  ‘Bohemia’ described by Khaadi CEO Shamoon Sultan as all about “expressing one’s individuality in a fun way”.

His collection was modelled by Robina Khan. The collection was set against a brightly-hued ethnic backdrop. The four-piece capsule included vibrant fuchsia cobalt, citrine and tangerine ethnic prints transposed onto short belted bell-sleeved tunics and layered tasseled coats offset with traditional carry-on bags.

The collection was vibrant and ebullient, akin to a ray of hope in these dark times. Both designer and model thanked the front-liners for their brave services and vowed to continue to support them.

The next designer, Amir Adnan, presented four looks from his Summer Festive Eid collection. His model was Subhan Awan. The designer picked  a simple palette of lilac and deep purple juxtaposed with black and white.

Huma Adnan’s collection was the five-look ‘Kuchi’ inspired by Kandahar Afghanistan and included long flowing white kuchi skirts worn with short embroidered tops and kuchi kaftan dresses. Huma chose supermodel Abeer Rizvi for her collection.
Similarly, the show went on with several other prominent Pakistani designers launching their new arrival wears for summer day by day. Day One ended with a heartwarming photo montage tribute to late model Zara Abid.
