Prime Minister Imran Khan visits COMSTECH headquarter, during his visit, the he was briefed on medical equipment and products being manufactured in Pakistan by the Ministry of Science and Technology in collaboration with the Pakistan Engineering Council.

On the visit of COMSTECH, Prime Minister (PM) addressed the gathering the nation was suffering from dependency syndrome previously but it is time to change that now.

During his visit to COMSTECH, the PM was briefed on medical equipment and products being manufactured in Pakistan by the Ministry of Science and Technology in collaboration with the Pakistan Engineering Council.

He said at a time when there is a global demand for ventilators, Pakistan has started making its own ventilators now. He said he now realizes that it was not so hard. “We are a nuclear power, nothing should be impossible for us,” he said.

He continued that coronavirus has made it necessary for Pakistan to build its medical infrastructure. He added that the country’s ruling elite and those in power used to travel abroad on taxpayers’ money to even get their tests done and now they have no other option but to seek treatment in their country.

“We have to improve our hospitals and spend money on them and improve our medical infrastructure,” the PM said.

Minister of Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry also addressed the gathering and said that today, the country is producing its own sanitizers and disinfectants and are in the position to export them.
