HEC put emphasis on students for taking online classes as no compromise on studies

Chairman Higher Education Commission (HEC) Tariq Banuri said Educational institutions closed for three weeks in Pakistan, but students start taking online classes as no compromise is being made on studies.

HEC put emphasis on students for taking online classes as no compromise on studiesFederal government issued directives all schools, colleges and universities across Pakistan have been closed as a precautionary measure to control the Coronavirus outbreak in the country. More then 170 people have been reported as the Covid-19 cases till date in Pakistan.

The Chairman HEC converse over making plans to continue with academic process despite imminent campuses closed by the government in the given context of Coronavirus.

The Chairman HEC said that it does not mean to put stop on education process. Department has started online classes for university and college students across the Pakistan. Teachers will give online lectures during these three weeks.

According to the HEC, an online learning management framework will be introduced in more than 70 universities of Pakistan and a team of professionals will also be formed for assisting in installing online learning management framework in other educational institutions of the country for starting online classes.

The chairman HEC stressed the educational institutions that if they don’t have these framework will get them installed within two weeks.

Data of every online classes will be compiled. A list of courses will be prepared and it will be aired on television. Teachers will also be given online evaluation systems.

The Chairman HEC added that we will also ensure that internet services are provided to all those zones  that don’t have service and modern technological systems are installed there for online classes.
