IIUI organised awareness seminar on Environmental concerns

Awareness seminar on “Alternatives of plastic bags and clean Green Pakistan Movement” held at department of environmental sciences IIUI in collaboration with International Islamic university (IIUI), Ministry of climate change (MoCC) and Technology Times.

IIUI organised awareness seminar on Environmental concernsDeputy Director (Chemical), IC Wing, Ministry of Climate Change Dr Zaigham Abbas, Associate Professor/ Chairman, Department of Environmental Science, IIUI Dr Muhammad Ibrar Shinwari and CEO/Editor Technology Times Sayyed Paras Ali were the speakers of the seminar.

Dr Muhammad Ibrar Shinwari welcomed the guests, faculty members and students of IIUI in seminar. He put emphasis on the role of environmental science which is increasing day by day with growing environmental concerns.

Dr Zaigham Abbasi talked about the adverse effects of using plastic bags on human health and environment.  Plastic bags releasing toxic gases and affects the function of the immune system. Plastic waste choking our oceans, lakes, and rivers and piling up on land is more than unsightly and harmful to plants and wildlife.

Government and the concerned authorities are trying to eliminate the menace of the harmful effects of plastic bags by organizing environmental awareness campaigns through MoCC.

He further talked about the launched campaigns by government “Clean and Green Pakistan”. The use of eco-friendly or paper bags must be a need of hour in order to restrain plastic pollution.

Sayyed Paras Ali highlighting the role of citizens especially youth to overcomes the environmental issues. Youth participation through governmental and non-governmental organizations is important by starting different activities for environmental awareness.
