Federal Minister for Science and Technology (S & T) announced about the increasing the budget of S & T sector substantially next year to strengthen its relevant departments and bring further improvements in Margalla dialogue 2019.
Federal Minister for Science and Technology Chaudhry Fawad Hussain participated in a Margalla dialogue session arranged by Islamabad Policy Research Institute (IPRI) at a local hotel in Islamabad.
Leading international opinion makers, heads of national and regional organisations, and policymakers from 14 countries including Afghanistan, China, Iran, Germany, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Nepal, Pakistan, Russia, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, the European Union, and the United States have gathered here in Islamabad to attend the Margalla Dialogue to discuss Peace and Development, especially conflict resolution, diplomacy, security, climate change governance and cyber technology issues that are impacting the region of South Asia, Middle East, Central Asia (SAMECA).
He said world is changing rapidly and policies related to S & T are also changing with the passage of time.
He emphasized on exploring the ways to control the country from misusing of the internet.
He said Research and Development institutions in civil and military sectors lack coordination which is direly needed.
He recalling the past achievements of Pakistan and said Pakistan was among the initial seven countries which developed fighter jets and it is the second country of South Asia which launched rocket.
He said Pakistan Council for Scientific and Industrial Research was established in 1952 when there was no any such institution. While Pakistan Council for Research in Water Resources was formed in 1964. Pakistan was among the initial countries of South Asia who introduced the mobile phones.
