China, Pakistan join hands to raise cotton industry

The third Sino-Pak International Conference on “Innovations in Cotton Breeding and Biotechnology” Industry held in China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. 

China, Pakistan join hands to  raise cotton industryThe China Pakistan cotton industry conference was concluded with a number of recommendations for giving boost to cotton industry under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

Pakistan and China have friendly relations, ever since the establishment of China in 1949. The reason for such relations between two countries based on sharing of diplomatic interests, complementing each other’s goals and motives.

The Sino-Pak International Conference attracted over 100 experts and scholars on cotton field. They made communication and discussions on related topics, such as, cotton germplasm, transgenic cotton against insect and herbicide, transformation technology as well as the mechanized planting and picking of cotton.

The experts of both countries agreed the China-Pak Joint Laboratory for Cotton has made plentiful achievements after three years’ construction. They hope to further extend in cooperation field and will strive to promote the development of cotton industries in the two countries.

The success holding of the third Sino-Pak International Conference on Innovations in Cotton Breeding & Biotechnology not only pushes ahead the sci-tech communication and cooperation in agriculture between the two nations, but also injects new vitality for the Belt and Road Initiative.

The third Sino-Pak International Conference was jointly sponsored by the Biotechnology Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences.
