NUST Int'l conference on AI in environment monitoring

International conference on role of artificial intelligence in environment monitoring concludes at NUST School of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science (SEECS) on 21st August 2019.

NUST Int'l conference on AI in environment monitoringThis year’s 2019 conference theme was Artificial intelligence – A game changer for climate change and the environment. Considering the looming environmental hazards that has the potential to threaten the surroundings that adversely affect people health through the medium of pollution and climatic variations.

NUST a leading university in Pakistan organized a high academic value conference to raise awareness and take all possible precautionary steps to halt the mounting concern. The conference brought together renowned scholars and scientists from across the globe.

State Minister for Climate Change Ms Zartaj Gul chaired the conference as a chief guest and shared the valuable remarks regarding the conference theme.

Speaking about the role of Artificial intelligence, minister said AI has helped researchers achieve 89 to 99 percent accuracy to solve major global environmental crises from climate change to animal endangerment to disease containment.

In the end Zartaj Gull planted a tree at NUST main campus and gave two messages to youth that “Please plant tress” and “Do not waste water”.

Lt Gen Naweed Zaman, HI (M), (Retd), Rector NUST, said that emphasized that AI and machine learning technology has massive potential and can be used to automate environment monitoring and significantly augment controlling efficiency.
