Solar PV planned for federal government buildings

All federal government buildings are underway to convert into Solar energy system as disclosed to the National Assembly by the Minister of State for Climate Change Zartaj Gul.

Zartaj Gul said that the Power Division has informed that Solarization and internal conservation of electricity energy of public sector buildings can bring manifold advantages.

That are clean and reasonably priced energy at sustainable level, savings in electricity bills, development of local market and skilled manpower transfer of technology and opening up avenues for new investment.

The Alternative Energy Development Board (AEDB) has also supported the notion of solarizing the Public Sector buildings and has recommended participation of private sector in the initiative.

Solarization can meet certain share from electricity load, and has the potential to bring gigantic savings and new investment in the country.

Moreover, she told that so far the Ministry of Climate Change has rehabilitated one of its attached departments i.e. Zoological Survey of Pakistan (ZSP) on solar energy with the endowment assistance from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
