Whether under or over ground, rail networks are mainstays of major cities across the world. Air rail trains suspended from a rail in the sky however are not but possibly not for long.

Beijing China Airline Railway Group’s (BCAR) new air-railway technology has passed initial reviews conducted by senior experts from major rail companies such as China Railway and CRRC, bringing air railway closer to delivery.

Air-railway refers to a single-railway transportation system similar to current urban railway systems with one major difference: its cars hang under, rather than drive over, the rails.

Compared with other transportation systems, airline railway is considered safer, more energy-efficient, as well as more cost productive.
