Bitter gourd “karela’ though harsh in taste, had a significant position in traditional cuisine and medicine. Karela belongs to the family of cucurbitaceae, like squash and cucumber. There are about 300 varieties found around the globe. Bitter gourd is cultivated as an imperative vegetable crop in many areas of Pakistan.

An orator of agriculture  department told that growers should cultivate permitted varieties of bitter gourd as these had better disease confrontation in addition to endow with maximum fabricate. Farmers should use 3.5 or 4 kg seed of Karela for cultivation per acre crop and get in touch with the agriculture department right away, if they need any assistance or guidance in this regard.
