23 Pakistani universities ranked among top 100 & 500 Asian institutes

Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Asia university the world leading ranking authority are out with a release for Pakistan as two of its universities are among top 100 this year while as many as 23 universities have been named among the top 500 higher education institutes this year 2019. It’s the greatest achievement that Pakistani universities are among top 100 and 500 Asian institutes as compared to the last year’s ranking number of just 16.

Pakistani universities for the very first time have made it to the top 100 as the universities kept increasing their competitiveness. Two of Pakistani universities entitled “The National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST)”, which was last year ranked at 112, have now improved its position considerably rising to the 87th position.

The second university to be included in the top 100 list this time is the “Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) at 95th spot” which improved its ranking from 103 positions in QS ranking 2019.

Pakistani Universities among top 500 as ranked by QS Asian authority listed below; Seven Universities are new comers at the QS raking authority list and few lost their band as compared to the previous ranking list 2018.

Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU), ranked 109 from 133 spot, COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT), ranked at 135th.

Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS), fell from 128th to 146th, University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore at 171st.

University of the Punjab (PU) ranked at 193rd, Agha Khan University (AKU) at 195th,University of Karachi fell 2 bands ranges 251 – 260,whereas, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad at 281 – 290.

Bahria University Islamabad at 351 – 400 that’s the new comer at the list, GC University Lahore (GCU) at 351 – 400, Institute of Space Technology (IST) at 351 – 400.

International Islamic University (IIU) also a new batch in the QS ranking list and ranged from 351 – 400, NED University of Engineering and Technology (NED UET) spot at 351 – 400.

Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET) loses 1 band 401 – 450, The University of Lahore positioned at 400 – 450.

University of Sargodha at 400 – 450, University of Sindh at 400 – 450, University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore spotted at 400 – 450, Lahore College for Women University, 450 – 500 ranked.

University of Central Punjab (UCP) positioned at the list varring 450 – 500, the last one among top 500 University of Management and Technology (UMT) positioned 450 – 500 according to QS Ranking list 2019.

Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) ranks universities on the basis of academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty staff with Ph.D., citations per paper and international faculty.
