Pakistan Scientific and Technological Information Centre, PASTIC has won a project titled “Networking and Capacity Building of Women Entrepreneurs (NCBWE) from SAARC countries” from SAARC Development Fund, SDF Bhutan.  The project is approved under SDF Social Window Fits with SAARC’s Strategy of Regional Integration & particular SDG is Poverty Reduction. The Project Financial Agreement (PFA) between PASTIC and SDF was signed on 23 November 2017.

The total approved project budget for eight  SAARC Member States including Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Nepal, India, Maldives and Sri Lanka is 0.7600 MUSD with Pakistan Share of 0.200 MUSD and each other of SAARC Member State’s share is 0.0800 MUSD. PASTIC is the Lead Implementing Agency of the project whereas and Dr. Saima Tanveer, Additional Director (STI) PASTIC is the Project Director. Main objective of the project is the development of a Web Portal uploaded with database of Women SMEs from SAARC region to promote women entrepreneurial networks for advancement of their businesses, co-operation and partnerships for promotion of their products/services, women entrepreneurial technologies/activities for betterment of their economies and  ICT entrepreneurial skill development of women SMEs for availing global opportunities to strengthen their businesses.
