Ministry of Information Technology, is a right organization with the responsibility to ensure cyber-security of Pakistan, this decision was made in a meeting which was conducted to develop a framework to coordinate and develop a mechanism of cyber-security in the country.

The meeting was chaired by Nasser Khan Janjua National Security Adviser. While the other attendees of the event are National Security Division secretary, representatives from Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ministry of Information Technology, Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA), Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).

In the meeting, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting have proposed a mechanism for a progressive Pakistan and chalk out way forward towards safe use of social media.

The meeting was ended with note that in the next meetup the process of evolving a mechanism for ensuring cyber-security will be concluded.
