MoST to build “Technology Parks” in Pakistan

MOST Government is focusing on building state of the art “Technology Parks” in Pakistan said Science, Technology, and Defense Production Federal Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain.

“To promote the culture of research and innovation in the country, Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) has taken many initiatives” he informed the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) Under-Secretary-General, Dr. Shamshad Akhtar.

Minister said in the meeting that NUST and COMSAT were trailing this initiative and pleased to have support from South Asian office of UNESCAP in these initiatives.

The role of the ministry of science and technology in promoting research and innovation culture in Pakistan was highly appreciated by Dr. Shamshad Akhtar.

To ensure better regional connectivity and socio-economic development for the entire region, she confirmed her organizational support to Pakistan.

She asked the minister that UNESCAP could coordinate with best researchers and scientists of Pakistan for the development of science and technology, not only for Pakistan but the whole region.

Science and Technology Federal Secretary Yasmin Masood and other senior officials from the Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST) have also attended the meeting.
