Shahid Khaqan Abbasi PM has formed a new 11-member board of the company, reliably educated while approving reforming Board of Director (BoD) of Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL).

Ministry of Energy, Petroleum Division, has informed that competent authority has been pleased to approve the reformation of BoD of OGDCL in a letter to Company Secretary OGDCL.

Secretary Petroleum Division and Chief secretary, Balochistan, as ex-officio members, while Athar Sial, Prince Ahmed Omer Ahmedzai, Rehmat Saleem Khattak, Haid Farooq, Zafar Masud, Iskandar Muhammed Khan, Zahid Muzaffar, Abid Saeed, and Major General (R) Sohail as Directors were included in newly formed BoD.

New BoD of OGDCL elected its new chairman at first meeting, sources in Petroleum Division informed. Former chairman BoD Zahid Muzaffar was next chairman of BoD of OGDCL as PM Abbasi was satisfied with performance and achievements of OGDCL.

It is relevant to mention that Zahid Muzaffar has investigated petrol crisis 2015 issue and facilitated to resolve the matter. He was petroleum advisor. OGDCL has inked dozens of agreements with various international firms to expand company’s business during his chairmanship. Major achievements of Zahid Muzaffar as Chairman BoD, was Russia and Pakistan’s energy giants entered into a joint venture deal. Russia’s Gazprom International and Pakistan’s Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) signed the Memorandum of Understanding in Moscow aimed joint ventures and use of advanced technology that would for exploration and development.
