Dr. Aisha Ghaus Pasha Punjab Finance Minister and Muhammad Naeem Akhtar Khan Bhabha Punjab Agriculture Minister had a meeting with President Saeed Ahmad National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) to discuss cooperation between the Punjab government and the NBP in e-credit scheme of agriculture.

Financing will be provided to small farmers under e-credit scheme with markup borne by Punjab government. Under scheme of government of Punjab, NBP has committed to giving loan up to Rs 30 million. Ayesha Ghous has appreciated thevision of Saeed Ahmad as well as association with the expansion of the scheme as SBP deputy governor.

Strategy was designed to reach deserving candidates and ensure loans NBP will collaborate with the best micro finance institutions and outspread credit lines to these institutions.To distribute loans to the small farmers under e-credit schemeinstitutions will use the same credit lines country-wide.

Saeed Ahmad said, “NBP is determined to empower nation specifically agri sector. Masses are not catered by any commercial bank are empowered to rise, grow and received support through NBP.”

Dr. Aisha stated that the Punjab government is determined to empower farmers with small land, landless and that never availed any financial conveniences. She further added that the Punjab government was also working to promote SME sector.

NBP is enthusiastic to cooperate with all provinces to endorse agri financing said, Ahmad.
