National Productivity Organization (NPO) and Ministry of Industries & Production are working together for productive & competitive Pakistan. NPO is also connected to Asian Productivity Organization (APO) a representative organization of around 20 countries committed to quality & productivity improvement in Tokyo, Japan.

NPO in 2005 has launched Green Productivity campaign (Energy Efficiency) in association with national and international organizations particularly the APO has launched Green Productivity Center (GPC) for sustainable activities. GPC has worked for increasing resource efficiency (water, energy, materials), reduce per unit production cost and decrease CO2 emissions for almost 280 clients so far. NPO Energy Efficiency services resulted in 10% saving and 800 plus technical staff has received training via class room/shop floor training.

NPO planned development of Demonstration Companies on Energy Efficiency &Conservation with help from APO. The program has importance in terms of cost reduction and increases awareness energy efficiency & conservation, changes approach of employees and framing an energy policy.

Demonstration companies demonstrate techniques for energy conservation and also encourages efforts from SMEs and both public and private organizations across Pakistan. The companies will share their nationwide achievement along with the application of tools and techniques they used for energy management.

The program will be led by experts from Japan to share schemes for energy-efficiency of Japan, practices, and technologies contributing to sustainable development. The mission will visit Serena Hotel Islamabad that shows interest in energy efficiency, provides networking opportunities for companies taking part in the program and participants of the upcoming conference.
