Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) has drilled and completed tight gas horizontal well Naushahro Feroz (NF) Hor-1, an official said.

NF Hor -1 is the deepest and longest wells in Pakistan as tight gas reservoir drilled. The well is 4,940 meters deep and 1.3 km horizontal section in Chiltan Formation.

It is completed with ten stages multi-frack and is Pakistan’s 1st well accomplished as multi-frack, said the pp officials.

In 2014 PPl discovered tight gas in NF X-1. To evaluate the discovery and to design optimum horizontal in-house geological and geophysical studies were done.

To achieve successful drilling in the horizontal section, they used the “Logging while Drilling” technology with real-time evaluation.

The well has 1.3 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscfd) gas and9 bbl/d of condensate at 32/64 choke size from one stage only shown by initial results.

In expectation to increase the flow potential, PPL proposes to carry out its project in a ten-stage multi-frack way.

NF Hor-1 is in Naushahro Feroz Block, Sindh, only 10% working interest is held by Asia Resources Oil Limited and 90% by PPl.
