CPEC ensures Pakistan’s ticket to the company said Prof Dr. Ahsan Iqbal, Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Reforms.

He expressed his views on the inauguration ceremony first Pakistan-China Forum on Higher Education. Air University organized the event in collaboration with HEC (Higher Education Commission of Pakistan) and China Association of Higher Education.

The one-day forum organized to address about “Challenges of Equitable Access and Quality in Higher Education”. The faculty and students from the universities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi have attended the event. Eminent speakers from both education forums that is China and Pakistan.

The minister cherished the HEC for its efforts to build CPEC University Alliance and CPEC Consortium of Business Schools while addressing to the occasion. He added that these collaborations will bridge more collaborations and helps intellectual connectivity, the true spirit of CPEC.

He said he is hoping for an exploration of innovative ways for cooperation between the two countries. He also warmly welcomed Chinese scholars to Pakistan.

The government of Pakistan is fully supportive to HEC that is increasing capacity building of current Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) so that human resource can be generated for CPEC. All this in return will encourage harmony in culture between Pakistan and China.

“I am thanking the Minister for supporting HEC enthusiastically, although it’s not the goal proviso for an economy that completely knowledge based”, said Dr. Arshad Ali, Executive Director of HEC, discussing in welcome note.

The forum was organized to focus on three basic and major areas of education that are National Role and Contribution in Improving Quality of Higher Education; Ensuring Quality with Large-scale Increase in Access and Balancing Quality of Higher Education in diverse regions.

Vice Chancellor, Air University, AVM (R) Faaiz Amir has started the forum with his welcome note while Lt. Gen. (R) Muhammad Asghar, Consultant CPEC at HEC gave the scholarly exposition of forum’s theme.

Dr. Sohail H. Naqvi, VC LUMS; Xiaomei Wang, Deputy Secretary General of China Association of Higher Education; Imtiaz Ali Rastgar, Chairman Rastgar Group of Companies; Fan XiaoXian, China Association of Higher Education, and Dr. Mahmood ul Hassan Butt, Consultant, HEC (Moderator) were the distinguished speakers of the Plenary Session.

The learned speakers in the first Parallel Session were including Dr. Naveed Akhtar Malik, VC Virtual University; Prof Guangli Zhou, Deputy Dean, School of Education Renmin University; Dr. Iqrar A Khan, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad; Mengjli Han, Graduate School of Education, Dalian University; Dr. Shahid Rashid, Executive Director, Centre of Excellence CPEC; and Dr. Samina Amin Qadir, Vice Chancellor, Fatima Jinnah Women University (Moderator).

At the Second Parallel Session, the speakers were Hassan Daud, Project Director, CPEC; Ming Xiaochang, Jiangsu Society for Research in Higher Education; Prof Dost Muhammad Baloch, VC Lasbela University, Dr. Muhammad Asif Khan, VC, Karakoram International University, Gilgit; and Dr. Razia Sultana, VC Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University, Peshawar (Moderator).
