Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL), former Agricultural Development Bank of Pakistan (ADBP), has recently signed an agreement with 1LINK, the largest payment switch in Pakistan to facilitate its customers with digital banking services across the country. The launching ceremony was held at 1LINK’s office in Karachi on April 27, 2017.
Through this partnership, ZTBL’s customers can use all Pakistan’s ATM & other offerings of 1LINK including Inter Bank Funds Transfer i.e. instant real time transfer of funds between accounts and Bill Payment Services. The collaboration will also empower ZTBL customers to request PayPak cards which will be accepted on all ATM & POS networks across Pakistan.
The agreement was signed by Mr. Syed Talat Mahmood, President ZTBL and Mr. Najeeb Agrawalla, CEO 1LINK (Guarantee) Limited in the presence of Mr. Aamir Zaffar Chaudry, Executive Vice President – ZTBL, Mr. Muhammad Iqbal Abbasi, Senior Vice President – ZTBL and Mr.Bashir Khan, Head of Operations – 1LINK (Guarantee) Limited.
Speaking at the occasion, Mr. Syed Talat Mahmood – President ZTBL said, “ZTBL is comparatively late in the digital banking domain; however, our plans are to leap ahead of other banks in shortest possible time, keeping in view the current market situation and ZTBL’s geographical presence in rural and less developed areas of the country”.
Mr. Najeeb Agrawalla, CEO 1LINK (Guarantee) Limited said at the occasion, “This agreement shall enable us to move forward jointly and will increase the capacity to facilitate and serve the needs of the bank’s client and bridge the financial divide”. He added that 1LINK is in line with the SBP’s vision 2020 to serve untapped population of country; ZTBL’s presence in the rural areas will enable 1LINK to develop digital credit products for farmers also.
