Staff Report ISD: The Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan and Microsoft have jointly developed an online portal with the name “National Event Management System” (NEMS), in order to manage academic activities of higher education institutes. This online portal will help to manage more than 3000 events maintaining records of universities under the cooperation of Microsoft and Hec. The basic intention of this effort is to manage HEC Academic activities and to provide information related to the events scheduled and published.


By using this portal HEC will now be able to closely view and strategize education planning based on the audience feedback extracted from this portal. This portal offers user registration, attendance, and self-service scheduling of various activities for diversified events and also solves the problems highlighted in the feedback received from the participants.


Anwar Amjad HEC, Director General (IT), stated that National Event Management System is developed particularly to resolve the operational challenges and enhancing the productivity of hundreds of events in diversified discipline, organized by and for HEIs across Pakistan, every year. It will also help in addressing the concerns and issues faced by participants in these events. HEC will continue to play its key role in facilitating and strengthening the institutions of higher learning in Pakistan.


Harb Bou-Harb, the Microsoft NEPA regional Public Sector Director said that it is a great honor for them to facilitate Hec through this online portal. Microsoft is dedicated to foster educational initiatives across the globe and uplift the standards of education in the developing world.
