STAFF REPORT RWP: Speakers at a conference titled “Professional Business Conference” have said that Pakistan is facing numerous challenges which can be overcome through economic prosperity.

The event was organised by Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan (ICMAP) at a local hotel in Rawalpindi.

Dr Fernando Panesso Serni, Ambassador of Columbia to Pakistan and Turkey, was the chief guest.

Dr Mirza Ikhtiar Baig, former Advisor to PM, Kaisar Bangali, economist, Iftikhar Ahmed Vohra, President KCCI, Tahira Raza, President FWB, Rahat Kaunain, former chairperson Competition Commission of Pakistan, Tariq Sultan, member finance PTA, and others addressed the audience.

Addressing on the conference, they said that stakeholders need to work together for development of economy. They said that the professional institutes and professional bodies could play a pivotal role in the economic development of the country.

The speakers emphasised that Pakistan has enormous resources and there was only need to ensure effective and judicious utilisation of resources that also include professional development of human resources.

“We need to come with new avenues that would attract investors confidence.” He informed the audience that the institute has taken the initiative to hold a conference to make deliberations on the ways to improve overall economy of the country,” said President and Chief Executive ICMA Pakistan Zia-ul-Mustafa.He also talked about investment potential in Pakistan. He said Pakistani market was one of the best growing markets of Asia.
