STAFF REPORT ISB: Highlighted the need for addressing industrialisation as a solitary goal in the forthcoming post-2015 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Federal Minister for Industries and Production Ghulam Murtaza Khan Jatoi has said the government was promoting Inclusive and Sustainable Industrial Development (ISID) to harness full potential of the industry.

He said at a consultative workshop on “Unido future cooperation with MoIP-Inclusive and Sustainable Industrial Development”.

Acknowledging the Unido efforts, the minister said that his ministry has joined hands with Unido to chalk out future framework of cooperation.

Speaking on the occasion, Secretary MoIP Raja Hasan Abbas said Pakistan has devised investment-friendly policies to reduce the cost, and enhance the ease of doing business. Creation of various export processing zones, national industrial parks, industrial clusters and special economic zones were the examples of such policies, he said.

He said that promoting bilateral and regional trade, attracting investment, enhancing energy and physical infrastructure were some of the most effective ways to promote sustainable economic growth.

On the occasion, Unido Representative to Pakistan Esam Algararah shared Unidos new vision for inclusive and sustainable industrial development.
