STAFF REPOR ISB: As many as 300 students of post-graduate programmes of Bahria University (BU) have received laptops under the Prime Minister National Laptop Scheme at a recently held ceremony held here.

About another 140 students of the university have already received laptops and Evo devices.

The ceremony was organized by Bahria University in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission (HEC).

This scheme has been initiated by the government to help enhance the access to information technology.

While speaking to the audience, Vice Admiral (Retd) Shahid Iqbal, Rector BU congratulated the HEC and the government for the successful execution of the scheme and also to the students who have come up to criteria for award.

He said that this scheme is ambitious and complimented the HEC and the government for all their efforts.

While addressing the students, he said that it was their duty now to use this laptop for the desired reason and to utilize their skills and help Pakistan proper in every field.

He declared these laptops as honour and recognition to the students good studies and abilities.

Anwar Amjad, Director General IT from HEC, Rear Admiral Saleem Akhtar, Pro-Rector, and all directors, Head of the Departments also attended the event.
