STAFF REPORT ISB: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has awarded 2,528 foreign, 4,108 indigenous scholarships to various scholars during the last five years, said an official of Ministry of Education, Training and Standards in Higher Education.
“The HEC has sent 4,204 scholars to abroad and also extended financial assistance to 8,178 students under different need based programmes in last five years,” said the official.
He said that 1,432 foreign scholarships including 238 female scholars of Punjab, 304 scholarships including 68 for females from Sindh, 482 including 43 females from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 75 including 13 females from Balochistan were awarded during the last five years.
