STAFF REPORT IBD: A gala of activities has recently been organised by the student-managed NUST Science Society (NSS) under the banner of NSS Welcome 2013-14.
The proceedings started with an inaugural address by NSS President Qassam Sarmad in which he discussed the basic functioning of the society and its hierarchy.
It was followed by a sci-venger hunt, in which participants scoured the campus to solve riddles and search for clues related to science, ultimately leading to the final destination, where the winners were awarded cash prizes.
Later in the evening, the participants and organisers enjoyed refreshments with a movie screening of Monsters University. The event was intended to boost the societys ongoing registration drive.
According to an official of the institution, holding of such event has proved to be a positive activity as it plays a significant role in promoting and encouraging the students to participate in science and technology subjects.
