STAFF REPORT IBD: The Khyber Medical University (KMU) Syndicate at its recent meeting has approved establishment of three projects including Institute of Nursing and Medical Technology, Institute of Medical Sciences and strengthening of KMU with an estimated cost of Rs450 million.


The KMU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Hafiz Ullah, while chairing the 13th meeting of university Syndicate, informed that three new projects of KMU, including the establishment of an Institute of Nursing and Medical Technology were approved.


The Academic Council of the UVAS has ensured provision of hygienic and quality food for the masses.


UVAS Vice Chancellor (VC) Professor Talat Naseer Pasha said this while chairing the meeting.


The university has approved a new M.Phil degree programme in Food Safety and Control under the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition in collaboration with European Union TRTA-II programme and UNIDO.


The internationally accredited postgraduate diploma has been upgraded to M.Phil program due to its broader scope, research needs and increasing demand of professionals in the field.


The meeting was told that the research component of the M.Phil program will help generate research based evidence to tackle the grave issue of food safety.
