STAFF REPORT KHI: Nokia Pakistan in association with Microsoft Pakistan has recently organized the first ever developers workshop for Windows Phone 8, with an aim at engaging the local developer community with whom Nokia Pakistan shares a very strong relationship.

The training was impacted by Tony Torp, Nokias external trainer who was flown in from Finland to share his supreme expertise on the WP8 platform with the participants.

The workshop garnered a phenomenal response which evidently showed a keen sense of interest amongst the local developers for being part of the enhancement process for the WP8 platform.

“Nokia Pakistan tapped on their talent through this workshop and gave them an opportunity to undergo training for the Windows Phone 8 platform. Our association with Microsoft Pakistan has been a major factor in driving this training towards success,” said Rabia Nizami, area head DX, Nokia Pakistan.

While commenting on the occasion, Haseeb Shaukat, Marketing and Communication Lead, Microsoft Pakistan, said: “This workshop has proved instrumental in honing the skills of our local developer community on the Windows Phone 8 platform. Pakistan has an enriched talent in the field of app development.”

He said that he believes that such events provide an avenue to developers, teachers and students to learn more about the intricacies related to the software.
