Zong BB-workshop-2 (1)_optSTAFF REPORT IBD: With the introduction of branchless banking, the transmission of money has become effortless and swift. ZONG realizes that with the growing usage of branchless banking, there is a dire need to fill the gap of knowledge for telecom journalists who desire a better and in-depth understanding of this technology.

Farooq Niaz, Manager PR and CSR at ZONG, said this in his remarks during a workshop organized by Zong on branchless banking at the Institute of Business Administration, City Campus Karachi.

The workshop was attended by telecom journalists from both print and electronic media. The main objective of this workshop was to acquaint the journalists with regulations and models of branchless banking in Pakistan.

The participants appreciated Zong for its undying efforts to promote professional expertise in various areas of reporting and for conducting such a useful training workshop. Journalists also urged to hold such events in the future as well for capacity building.

“This programme is a good example of academia industry collaboration. It is synchronized with the objective of Center for Executive Education CEE at IBA Karachi to offer programmes which are relevant, applicable and improves employability of the people by bringing the best resources together,” said Izhar Hussain, Director Center for Executive Education CEE.
