STAFF REPORT IBD: The first phase of Telenor Talkshawk Internet Champion, the Telenor Talksawks nationwide knowledge-based initiative, has been concluded in Muzaffarabad, AJK.

It should be noted that Telenors competition engaged around 18,500 students from semi urban areas of Azad Jammu and Kashmir while 83 workshops were conducted in 83 government schools.

Names of the 50 students who have proceeded to the finals of this competition was announced at Govt. Boys High School No 2 Plate Muzaffarabad, while phase two of the competition will result in the selection of one student who will visit Opera Mini in Norway.

On the occasion, Aamir Ibrahim, Chief Marketing Officer, Telenor Pakistan, paid tribute to the AJK IT Board for facilitating Telenor Talkshawk Internet Champions programme. He said, “We believe that every child in AJK has the potential to become successful and contribute to the society and the nation; all they need is encouragement and guidance. We appreciate the support extended by the AJK government and hope to take this initiative to all the provinces of Pakistan.”

AJK Minister for Social Welfare and Women Development, Farzana Yaqoob, said that the project is in line with our commitment to encourage the youth of AJK to utilize the latest technology and make a positive contribution to the society.
