STAFF REPORT IBD: The national gas transmission network is operating on the edge inPakistan and if timely measures for disconnecting a few sectors were not taken the compressors might trip in January resulting in a forced outage that may persist for two weeks. “The country will be facing a severe gas shortage this month and the situation could be only averted by completely blocking gas supply to industrial and CNG sectors for at least a month,” said Petroleum Minister Dr. Asim Hussain while talking to media. He said if the gas load management plan is not implemented then there would be a severe gas crisis in the country.
