The President of Pakistan launched the National Idea Bank (NIB) in February 2021 with the goal of recognizing and supporting innovative ideas and promoting an entrepreneurial culture in Pakistan. As a partner university with the National Idea Bank (NIB), the National University of Technology (NUTECH) hosted a prize distribution ceremony on January 18, 2023.
Earlier on his arrival at the National University of Technology, the Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Mahmood-ul-Hassan, was received by the Pro-Rector, Maj. Gen. Khalid Javed, HI (M).
Distinguished Vice Chancellors, representatives from industry leadership, award winners from various universities, students, faculty, and support staff all attended the Prize Distribution Ceremony.
During his interactions with award winners, students, and faculty, the Chief Guest emphasized that the National Idea Bank promotes new technologies and that startups can play an important role in uplifting our country.
Such initiatives are critical for developing an innovative, industry-focused collaborative model to address emerging challenges. He urged the youth to develop new technologies, take initiative, think creatively, and become our society’s future leaders and innovators.
The chief guest also praised NUTECH for providing invaluable assistance to ASPIRE Pakistan as a partner in the NIB initiative. He praised Rector NUTECH and his team, in particular, for organizing this spectacular ceremony to recognize the country’s talent at the national level.
Furthermore, Professor Dr. Vali Uddin (VC, SSUET) and Mr. Hassan Syed (Chairperson, ASPIRE Pakistan, and Founder of NIB) addressed the audience. Finally, the Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Mahmood-ul-Hassan, presented certificates to all of the winning teams, which included 12 NUTECH teams.
He congratulated the award winners and their project managers and wished them success in their future endeavors.
