The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore and University of Home Economics (UHE) Lahore signed a memorandum of understanding to promote cooperation in education & research.

UVAS inks MoU with University of Home Economics to promote cooperation in education & research

Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad (S.I), Director Office of Research Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC) Dr Ferhan Jamil from UVAS while Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Kanwal Ameen and Deputy Director (ORIC) Mr Tariq Aziz from University of Home Economics (UHE) signed the MoU in a ceremony held at here in City Campus on Tuesday. Dean Faculty of Biosciences Prof Dr Habib-ur-Rehman, Prof Dr Masood Rabbani, Prof Dr Aneela Zameer Durrani and number of UVAS senior faculty members and officials from UHE were present in the ceremony. Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad said that this cooperation will be very beneficial for both institutions especially for learning/shearing each other experience, innovative knowledge, new ideas and practical skills. He also briefed the UHE delegation on UVAS academic, research projects & state of the art lab facilities of university. Prof Dr Kanwal Ameen said that for the uplift of institution it is direly needed to work on the faculty development for their capacity building. She spoke about the publication, areas of research, interest and objectives for the development of UHE.

She also sought assistance of UVAS in the development and up gradation of UHE labs. She also urged the need to include faculty impact in generating finances in the shape of research projects rather-then number of publications. Later, UHE delegation visited UVAS Food Science and Human Nutrition Department and Veterinary Academy. University of Home Economics , Under the MoU, both the institutions agreed to collaborate in joint research projects in the areas of human nutrition, information technology and research. UVAS will provide technical assistance to UHE in strengthening their research, innovation and commercialization activities. They will jointly arrange conferences, seminars & symposia and exchange of faculty members for research, lectures and discussion. They will share their lab, research facilities and equipment with each other. Both institutions will develop research proposals as well as will conduct joint research and development projects. The information related to mutual workshops, symposia and conferences will be shared with students and faculty of both institutions.
