Javed Afridi, the owner of Peshawar Zalmi and key stakeholder of MG Motors in Pakistan, has once again teased the launch of the MG 3 in Pakistan. In a Facebook post, Javed Afridi shared a video of the MG 3 while stating that the launch of the vehicle was in its final stages.
The face of MG Pakistan, Javed Afridi, has made another allegation. Afridi published the MG 3 video on Facebook once more, dropping a hint that the debut is soon with the words: “Yes, MG 3 will cost less than 2 million in Pakistan”. If you recall, this is Javed Afridi’s fourth discussion regarding the cost of this hatchback. He first teased the release of this car for fewer than Rs. 2 million in February 2021, which generated a lot of buzz. But after a considerable period of complete silence, he gave another update and, late this month, he again requested people to estimate the cost of the MG 3 in Pakistan.
Keep in mind that MG Pakistan has never formally disclosed any update or potential launch date. Even then, we informed you that MG would not be including this vehicle in its portfolio. However, it appears that Javed Afridi is bringing the vehicle to the neighborhood car market. Even though the MG HS and MG ZS are locally built, MG Pakistan has yet to sell a single one. Despite the fact that Afridi has posted videos showing MG vehicles being assembled, none of them have been distributed to dealers. Therefore, the company’s history is not in its favor. Additionally, according to industry experts, MG still lacks a license to sell CKD automobiles since it has not met the government’s criteria for Greenfield status.
