The Department Of Computer Science, University Of Karachi And IR Next Signed The MoU At The Vice Chancellor Secretariat To Raise Awareness.

The Department Of Computer Science, University Of Karachi And IR Next Signed The Memorandum Of Understanding On Tuesday At The Vice Chancellor Secretariat To Raise Awareness Of New Technologies Among Students And Faculty Members. This MoU will form collaboration to carry out knowledge, awareness, research, and policy analysis on the development and implementation of industry 4.0 technologies including Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, and Internet of Things, and others, and support the role of productive students.

Both parties have agreed to produce demand-led technology analysis and research outputs that strengthen the knowledge base for policymaking relevant to Pakistan’s digital initiative and development.

The objective of the MoU is to respond to specific tech-savvy students’ demands for timely technical analysis and support and to bridge the gap between academia and industry. According to the MoU, the IR Next would bring international projects for the students of the KU-DCS and would also provide in-house training and practical work experience.

As per the MoU, the University of Karachi would publish reports and opinions on the technology policies and work with the IR Next to fill the gap in the information and technology sector. As part of the MoU, a Technology Accelerator was also established at the Department of Computer Science University of Karachi. On this occasion, the KU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Khalid Mahmood Iraqi expressed that we have to adopt the latest tools and technologies to meet the challenges, and collaboration between academia and industry would play a vital role in this regard.

The KU VC Professor Dr Khalid Iraqi and the Chairman IR Next Dr Khalid Mahmood inked the MoU documents while the Dean Faculty of Science Professor Dr Nasira Khatoon, Director KU Offices of Research, Innovation and Commercialization Professor Dr Aliya Rehman, the Chairman DCS Dr Nadeem Mahmood, Student Affairs Advisor Dr Syed Asim Ali and CEO of IR Next Shariq Hashmi and faculty members of the department of computer science were also present on the occasion.
