South Africa COVID-19 death toll is 22,574.

Health Minister, Zweli Mkhize, says that most are from the Western Cape, Eastern Cape, Gauteng and Kwazulu-Natal.

On Wednesday, Mkhize announced the country is experiencing a second wave on Wednesday.

The department says, according to criteria formulated by scientists and modelling teams, the country fits the criteria of a second wave of COVID-19 infections.

“The festive season is the time we need to enjoy with our families, but we need to remember that we have a responsibility to enjoy [ourselves] with various restraints,” said Mkhize.
