Isolation Hospital and Infectious Treatment Centre will consist of 252 beds. Pak-China Friendship Center Islamabad will also operate as an isolation centre for Covid-19 patients.

PM executes earth-breaking of Isolation Hospital and Infectious Treatment Centre at Islamabad

The Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan performs ground-breaking of 252 beds Isolation Hospital and Infectious Treatment Centre (IHITC) in Islamabad. The Center will be established by Frontier Works Organization (FWO) for National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).

The Isolation Hospital and Infectious Treatment Centre will be established at a total covered area of 70,000 sft with light gauge steel structure (prefabricated). This Isolation Hospital will have seven blocks, four for male and three for female patients.

The IHITC will be a totally airtight facility, with sensor control doors to avoid human touch to open and close door, that became a major cause of spread of infectious disease. This will be a modern facility following international standards, briefed by Chairman NDMA, Lt General Muhammad Afzal.

In another development, Pak-China Friendship Centre is converted into an Isolation Centre for Covid-19 patients. This is a 50 beds facility for isolation and treatment of Pakistanis coming back to country from abroad.

The Isolation Centre is primarily made for Pakistanis who are coming back or who are stuck outside Pakistan, they will be kept in this isolation centre, for test and prevention of Covid-19.

Another isolation facility is already working at Hajj Complex, this is second facility in Islamabad. Separately two other hotels in Islamabad are on red alert to be used as isolation centers.
