Sweden takes the global battle against climate change seriously. More than half of Sweden’s national energy supply comes from renewable and thorough legislation aims at further reducing greenhouse gas emissions through Swedish technology.

Swedish technology is one of the most innovative when it comes to environment related technology according to the OECD Environmental Performance Review 2014. Investments in environmental R&D have made Swedish technology an innovation leader for several clean energy technologies, including biofuels, smart grids and carbon capture and storage.

Sweden was also one of the first nations signing and ratifies the international climate change treaty Kyoto Protocol, in 1998 and 2002 respectively.

Prime Minister Imran Khan started Clean and Green Pakistan Movement which is the countrywide five year movement includes “changing mindsets” towards cleanliness, creating dumping sites for waste, provision of public toilets, and starting a volunteer scouts program to help support the movement in Pakistan.

This pilot study to review Swedish technology will be conducted in Department of Environmental Sciences, COMSATS University, Abbottabad.
