Special Assistant to the Prime Minister of Pakistan Dr Sania Nishtar, has been conferred with honorary degree by her alma mater, King’s College London.
She is a King’s graduate, and already done a Ph.D from King’s College.
The ceremony held at the historical University Chapel which attended by persons form academia, research scholars and administration of the College.
Dr Sania Nishtar while receiving her degree just said “I is deeply humbled”.
The Chairman of Kings College, London Rt. Hon Lord Geidt said “honorary degrees are conferred by King’s on persons of conspicuous merit and the highest distinction. They have no formal duties as such, but may of course contribute to the life of the University by sharing experiences and expertise or engaging socially.”
Pakistan High Commissioner to the UK, Mohammad Nafees Zakaria praised Dr Nishtar on prestigious award and said the conferment of honorary degree by a leading university of the UK is an acknowledgement of her contributions to public health, social protection and poverty alleviation.
He further said “The award is a matter of pride for all of us.”
