Pakistan’s judiciary carry out a considerable achievement in the country, for the first time Supreme Court (SC) has started hearing of cases through electronic high-tech (e-court) system on 27th May, 2019.
While hearing the first case through e-technology, a three-member bench headed by the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Asif Saeed Khan Khosa and comprising Justice Sardar Tariq Masood and Justice Mazhar Alam Khan Miankhel formally initiated the proceedings of cases at principal seat Islamabad and Supreme Court Branch Registry in Karachi.
The advocate of Karachi whose cases were set for hearing at Supreme Court (SC) Branch Registry Karachi argued their cases through video link and the bench at the principal seat in Islamabad heard and decided the cases on the courtroom.
E-court system will ultimately aimed to benefit the lawyers and adversary to save their precious time and money. Moreover, the new initiative at SC will also encourage the legal fraternity to plead their cases without delays.
