The event started with a welcome address by Prof. Dr. Abdul Rashid Shaikh, Vice Chancellor, Isra University. He discussed the importance of Paigham-e-Pakistan initiative in Pakistan and added that such seminars should be organized in different universities across all provinces to create awareness regarding the true meaning of Islam and Pakistan.

The objective of this seminar was to introduce the initiative of Paigham-e-Pakistan as the peace building effort to counter the violent extremism. Since, Pakistan has been suffering for several years an immense damage caused by an illusion created by the distortion of Islam; with religion being mixed with extremism, terrorism and hate, due to which our educational institutes became the target of the narrative. The need of a national narrative was felt to counter violence, extremism, radicalism and create awareness about the fundamental issues of Islam across the Pakistan.

Mr. Mufti Tariq Masood (Professor, Jamia Tur Rasheed, Karachi) introduced the initiative of Paigham-e-Pakistan,” Mr. Syed Ayaz Ahmed Shah (Director Public Relations & External Affairs, Jamia Tur Rasheed, Karachi) delivered the session on “Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the Concept of Riyasat-e-Madina,” Dr. Tahira Yosuf (Senior Assistant Professor, Institute of Professional Psychology, Bahria University Karachi) delivered the session on “Importance of Emotional Resilience: Individuals Role in Betterment of the Society” and lastly,  Mr. Sheeraz Ilyas Shaikh (Assistant Professor, Department of Psychology, University of Sindh) delivered the session on “Psychology of Conflict and Peace.”

In the end, Mr. Abdul Qadir Memon (Registrar, Isra University, Hyderabad) gave closing remarks. He appreciated the management on organizing such a fruitful seminar on Paigham-e-Pakistan and thanked all the guest speakers for their valuable time and knowledge.
