Spring Festival 2019 began at the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore on Monday with the theme of “Peace and Harmony”.
On the first day, competitions of Naat-Qiraat, Azaan and Documentary were arranged by the Senior Tutor Office.
In Qiraat competition male category, Hafiz Shakir (DVM) got first position, Hafiz Rauf (IBBT) got second position and Hafiz Furqan (Business School) got third position while in female category Mariam Naeem (DND) got first position, Hajra Awais (Business School) got second position and Fatima Ashfaq and Mehwish Imtiaz both from (IPS) stood on third position.
In Naat competition, male category, Mohsin Maqsood (Microbiology) got first position, Arslan Ghazanfer (IPS) got second and Muhammad Salman (Business School) got third position while in female category Maria Rasool (DND) got first position, Saira Aziz (DVM) got second position and Sidra Qurban (BS) stood on third position.
In Azaan competition, Hafiz Abdullah won 1st position, Khurram (IBBT) got 2nd position while Hafiz Tahir (IBBT) got 3rd position.
In Spring to life documentary competition, funny vines Faiqa Waheed team (DND) got first position, Abdur Rehman team (DVM) got second and Hammad Bhatti team (IPS) got third position.
In life at UVAS documentary competition, Hammad Latif team won 1st position, Usama Team got 2nd position while Hira and Saleha team stood on 3rd position.
In Reporter competition, Amina Sattar (Microbilogy) won 1st position, Hifza Saleem (IPS) got 2nd and Saleha Hafsa stood on 3rd position.
Renowned Naat Khawan Asif Sarhadi and Qari Aziz ur Rehman were chief guests on the occasion and gave away shields to the Naat-Qiraat contest winners while UVAS Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha and UVAS Senior Tutor Prof Dr Kamran Ashraf were also present on the occasion. A large number of students and faculty members were present in the event. Students from various departments participated in these competitions. Similar competition also held at UVAS Ravi Campus Pattoki.
