Institution of Engineers, Pakistan(IEP) has planned to establish Technology Park and a housing society at Gwadar to provide professional support to China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Rawalpindi-Islamabad (IEP-RI) has hosted the progress to this effect was reviewed at its 301st Central Council meeting.
The meeting discussed several issues about technical and professional activities. Some amendments to the IEP’s constitution and by-laws were approved in the meeting. Award of prizes or medals to distinguished and reputed engineers for their praiseworthy services in several disciplines.
Engr. Dr. Izhar ul Haq IEP’s President presided the meeting. Institution’s Secretary General Engr. Mian Sultan Mahmood, chairman IEP, Rawalpindi-Islamabad(IEP-RI) Engr. Hafiz M. Ehsan ul Haq Qazi and Secretary Engr. Shafiq-ur Rehman was among others.
Detailed progress reports were presented by local centers about technical activities. Rawalpindi-Islamabad Center for its pro-active role was appreciated in promoting the objectives of IEP.
Meeting considered the demand of IEP-RI for the formation of its sub-centers at Muzaffarabad and Gilgit. Engr. Hafiz Ehsan-ul-Haq briefed the committee about the events recently arranged for capacity-building of the young engineers and its future for professional development in their Center.
The participants anticipated the local centers to work more energetically to promote and advance the working status of the engineering community. Young engineers predominantly new graduates will be encouraged to join the organization and absorb from seniors’ experiences for their suitable coaching and operative practical life.
