STAFF REPORT PEW: The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after declaring the year as Year of Technology has decided to establish Information Technology (IT) laboratories in the public sector schools across the province. The lack of IT infrastructure in government schools is a major problem leading towards inadequate skill development and exposure of students towards IT. This step beholds a milestone importance and its fruitful impacts will be observed in coming years.


As per the sources, K-P Elementary and Secondary Education department was planning to set up nearly 500 computer laboratories in high schools and higher secondary schools.


Computer labs are not only a room of computer give student access to concentrate IT proficiency and education. If a school does not have a library or can’t bear to put a great deal of innovation into its classrooms, then a computer lab is a suitable answer for give access to understudies to computerized learning.


The step of government is appreciated from IT stakeholders and role of ICT in education is stressed all over the country to incorporate innovate learning and instructing techniques through which literacy could be increased with focus on quality learning.
