STAFF REPORT MULTAN: Pakistan needs uplifting in agriculture because of its large dependence on this sector that has huge role in national economy and national development. Extensive research institutions, laboratories, capacity building is obligatory to meet the future needs. In order to translate this deliberation into reality, Chinese government has announced to set up a start of the biotechnology lab in Multan.


Chinese Ambassador, Sun Weidong during his visit to Cotton Research Station said, “China beholds strong brotherly relations with Pakistan and it will always stride forward for strengthening the bilateral ties by cooperation in various sectors i.e. agriculture, energy, and infrastructure development to ensure regional stability and take the diplomatic relations to a whole new level”.


He further said that the establishment of biotech lab will account to uplift agri sector and to ensure the food security.
