Staff Report ISD: The 13th Convocation of University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Taxila held recently in which degrees were conferred to the students.


Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reforms, Ahsan Iqbal was the chief guest of the event. He stressed upon the importance of education while addressing to the participants of the event. Minister said, “International economic institutions and media now considerPakistanas a propelling economy and recent $46billioncolossal investment from China in infrastructure and energy sector tempted the international community to invest in Pakistan.” He further said that research and innovation are must to develop the economy of Pakistan by adaptation of new technologies to improve competiveness.


Ahsan Iqbal further said, “The government is committed for economic development of the country and youth are integral part in that who can contribute for national development at large on many frontiers.” He exalted the role of UET, Taxila in imparting quality education and highly skilled resource in the different fields particularly engineering who play pivotal role in infrastructure development and national progress of the country.



Dr. Niaz AhmadAkhtar, ViceChancellorUET also addressed the audience and congratulated the students who completed their degrees and their parents. He urged students to work hard and play their role in national development.


Laer on, Ahsan Iqbal conferred degrees onsuccessful PhDs, MS, MPhil and BS graduates of the university.


TheBS degreeswereawardedin the field of computer and environmental sciences and gold medals were distributed among the graduates securing top honors in each discipline



The post-graduates degrees wereawardedin the disciplines of electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial telecom, and business administration.
